LIAG Annual General Membership Meeting and Luncheon from 11:30am to 2:00pm at the Conklin Barn.  At the corner of High Street & New York Avenue, Huntington Village, NY.  Meet the LIAG Board members, hear about upcoming events and where LIAG is headed, get informed about what LIAG has been doing over the past year, meet and network with other members of the group, voice your opinions and suggestions, volunteer to help on a committee.  Enjoy a delicious catered lunch.  Authors may bring books to sell.  This event is open to LIAG members ONLY.

Martha Clara Vineyards LIAG Summer Book Fair from Noon to 4:00PM at the Martha Clara Vineyards in Riverhead, NY.  Come on out and support the LI writing community.  Have fun meeting many of the finest writers on Long Island while enjoying the excellent wines of one of the most popular Vineyards on the North Fork.  Authors will discuss their work while selling and signing their books.  You’ll find children’s books, LI history, romance, murder mysteries, and cook books among the collections.  Bring the entire family and spend a summer afternoon strolling the grounds of this wonderful vineyard.  (Rain or Shine)  Open to the public.

Sparkling Pointe Vineyard LIAG Summer Book Fair – Southold, NY.  from Noon to 4:00PM.  Second LIAG Summer Book Fair at this new vineyard which specializes in Methode Champenoise (Champagne).  Enjoy champagne while mingling with LIAG authors who will be discussing and signing their books.  Open to the public.

SCHEDULE FOR LIAG, FIRST-WEDNESDAYS AUTHORS' SERIES

Each Wednesday at 7:30pm at the Sheraton, Long Island Hotel, 110 Motor Parkway Hauppauge, NY 11788Off the LIE at exit 53.  Full cash menu and cash bar.  Event is free to LIAG members, dinner and drinks must be purchased.  Open to the public with a $10 suggested donation.  For more information call David Axelrod at

September 2, 2009: Glenn Poveromo, author of The Spirit’s Self-Help Book, will help you visualize your way to greater creativity and success! Meet and greet for all LIAG members.

October 7, 2009: Marianna Marra, author of Owning Hope, will talk on her work with young and old to help them find their life’s path.   Karen Flyer, author of Loss and Found, will talk about how we can recover from our past traumas.

November 4, 2009: Phil Keith, author of Animus, will give a talk on the pros and cons of “self-publishing” with hints for successful book marketing.  All Members of LIAG will share their publishing stories. All authors are invited to display and sell their books. Holiday time is books-buying time! [We will have a large table where members can place a single book on display. Authors will wear a name tag. People will find each other to talk and buy a book!]

December 2, 2009: Yvonne Capitelli, Daria Rose and the Day She Chose.  Dorothy McPartland, Moonlight Dance and Wishing Star, will talk about her childrens’ books and answer the question we all have asked, “Why do we wish on a star?”

January 6, 2010: David B. Axelrod, author of How to Apologize.   Adam Fisher, author of Enough to Stop the Heart.

February 3, 2010: Kerriann Flanagan Brosky, Ghosts of Long Island. If you don’t believe now, wait until you hear and read Ms. Flanagan Brosky’s investigations.  Cindi Sansone-Braff, recommended by Newsday as one of the six top mediums on LI, will talk about "The Lessons I've Learned from Talking to the Dead."

March 3, 2010: Patrick Astre, This Is Not Your Parents’ Retirement.  A discussion of tax advantages for writers.

April 7, 2010: Vincent Simeone, author of Shrubs for Residential Gardens, will talk on flowering shrubs and trees, just in time for spring!  Clem Healy, North and South Fork Cemeteries, discusses his book and the history of the East End.

May 5, 2010: Suzanne Litrel, Jackie Tempo and the Emporer’s Seal.  Florence Gatto, author of The Scent of Jasmine, a multi-sense experience culminating in Sicilian cookies!

June 2, 2010: Michael Cinquemani, Night Tide (Reveals the untold story of one of Long Island’s most controversial, eccentric and incredibly successful striped bass fishermen.)  Authors’ Open Mic. Bring something of your own to read or present and suggestions for a good summer of reading and writing.
