In November of 2000 Michael Cinquemani
retired from a thirty-two year career with the New
York City Board of Education where he served in
positions ranging from junior high school English
teacher to Acting Community Superintendent of a
26,000 student school district in Queens, New York.
Although most of his past writing efforts have been
in the fields of English literature and
secondary
education, fishing has remained a lifelong interest
and love.
Night Tides presents Mr. Cinquemani’s first published venture into a world that has fascinated him since childhood. It has been his intention for many years to chronicle the true story of his longtime friend and sporadic fishing buddy, Billy “The Greek” Legakis – while capturing the magnificence of a fish and the beauty of its endangered environment.
Michael lives on Long Island and is married to Rosalie, his business partner and wife of forty years. They have two adult children, Michael and Christopher.
Reveals the untold story of one of Long Island’s most controversial, eccentric and incredibly successful striped bass fishermen.
