Robert Müller

Robert G. Müller is the 1st Vice President of the Long Island Authors Group, a member of the board of directors of the Long Island Lighthouse Society, and a past president of the Long Island Lighthouse Society and the East Islip Historical Society. In 2005, he received the US Lighthouse Society’s President’s Award for “outstanding contributions to lighthouse preservation.” He was the coordinator for the 2005 and 2008 versions of the Long Island Lighthouse Challenge, the only event in which all of Long Island’s lighthouse groups participate. Bob is the founder of www.LongIslandLighthouses.com, one of the most popular lighthouse sites on the internet.

By day, Bob is a kitchen and bath designer, but stays busy with a variety of interests in his free time. He is an avid motorcyclist (he can often be found riding around Long Island on his Ducati), birdwatcher, pro football fan, and is the bassist for the blues band, Night Train. An eight-year military veteran, Bob is a member of the American Legion, Post 411.

In addition to his two books, Bob has written many magazine and newsletter articles, and has had his photography published in books, magazines, newspapers, on a poster, and at several commercial sites (including the lobby of Stony Brook Hospital). He often lectures on Long Island lighthouse history.

Bob lives on the south shore of Long Island with his wife and editor, Diane, sister Judy, and a host of furry and feathered friends, including Wobbles the Lighthouse Kitty (www.LighthouseKitty.com). He maintains a MySpace page at www.myspace.com/bobmuller.
