LIAG Literary Challenge

The Long Island Authors Group (LIAG) has been promoting reading and writing in the community
ever since our first book fair event in 2008. One of our proudest activities is our LIAG Literary Challenge.

 The 2023 Literary Challenge has now been awarded...

 

The Long Island Authors Group (LIAG) has been promoting reading and writing in the community ever since our first book fair event in 2008. One of our proudest activities is our LIAG Literary Challenge.

This year's Literary Challenge is now underway.

Entry Rules:

  • Student must be enrolled in a Long Island public high school.

  • All entries must be in English, an original work not AI generated, and 250-500 words.

  • 12 font, one inch margins, standard formatting, double space, proper capitalization, spelling and grammar required.

  • Select theme A or theme B:

    • Theme A- Utilizing the five senses (sight, sound, smell, taste, touch), describe the impact a visit to a Long Island site had upon you.

    • Theme B- Describe a crucial issue or obstacle facing Long Island youth, and ways in which the youth can mobilize to address it.

  • Essay Challenge Form must accompany each entry.

  • Email entries to: liagessay@gmail.com

  • Prizes: 1st place $500, 2nd place $300, 3rd place $200
