Lysa Mullady

Lysa Mullady's journey as an author speaks to the adage, all good things come in good time. Lysa grew up in East Islip, loving books and dreaming of becoming a writer one day.

As an elementary school counselor in Copiague, Lysa uses creative story telling as a teaching tool. For over 30 years in education, she has put together countless anecdotes, each one tailored to help her students be the best that they can be.

Always hoping to be published; through the years, letters and manuscripts were sent to publishing houses. Rejection became a regular event. There was no way of knowing that the a fly, buzzing around on a hot muggy day, combined with worry for a child, would be the moment that would lead to her first children's book.

Dedicated to that student, Bye Bye Pesky Fly was released through Magination Press in May, 2018. With great joy, Lysa looks forward to the release of two others, Three Little Birds and Red Yellow Blue. All of her books were born through her desire to be a guiding force.

Lysa now lives in Smithtown with her husband, where they raised their two children. Each morning, walking their two golden doodles, her imagination soars; creating new characters that may come alive one day within the pages of a book.
